This is the second day in a row where all the cards are pentacles. Interesting. I shuffle the deck not once but three times - I also pull the first card from the lower third of the deck, the second card from the middle and the last from the top. These little things make me take notice -
The energy around this mornings cards is one of having control - whether it be controlling how you approach your finances to controlling your work habits so that they are in alignment with your goals. In the end, you find that your discipline will pay off as it will set you up for a period of comfort and security.
The crow stands on the wolf's head as it has learned how to tame the wild animal and as a result is can use the wolf's strengths to achieve its material goals.
With the Nine of Pentacles in the past position, this indicates a time when you able to recognize a behavior that wasn't playing out in your favor in regards to finances or material possessions and because of this you were able to make a conscious choice to change some deep-rooted not-so-great habits. Whether it was starting each pay period in the hole or spending your money as soon as you got it out of some subconscious fear of losing it or not deserving it - whatever the case may be you were able to get a hold of your "wild" side around financial matters and tame the inner beast. If you are in a place of stability today it is because of your ability to control any wild urges you have around money.
The crow patiently works on yet another pentacle. It is not in a rush as this bird knows that perfection takes time and effort - as well as a willingness to learn. With each new coin, the bird creates - it gets that much closer to success and as its skills improve the quicker it will reach its goals.
At the heart of today's reading is the Eight of Pentacles and the energy that is present is one of putting your nose to the grindstone and working towards a goal. If you feel as though you have been working and working and yet the goal is still far away - this card brings the message to not give up, to learn and analyze the situation so that you truly see the progress you have made.
With the Nine of Pentacles creating the foundation you may be questioning whether or not the work is worth the effort as you are not getting the immediate gratification of material success - however your ability to tame the wild side - the part of you who that wants success immediately, in the end, will lead to a more positive outcome as you will reach the end stronger and better positioned financially than if you give up in the middle.
The crow basks in warm comforting summer air as it is surrounded by all of the material possessions it could ever wish to achieve. But this bird is not greedy and it does not hoard all of its treasures - it is generous and openly shares its wealth as it knows that there is a flow and for more abundance to enter it must be able to let go.
The King of Pentacles comes in with a message that support will be there for you when you are ready. This may be a person who helps you invest your money or someone who opens the door to an opportunity to change your financial situation significantly. The King is a generous person and will not ask for anything in return as they have plenty and wants for nothing more than to help others accumulate the same level of security they experience.
This person may be a relative who offers you the money to get your business off the ground or a boss that gives you an opportunity for a new promotion - one that will change your financial situation for the better. The King of Pentacles is not someone who will sell you their system for making money on the internet for three easy payments.
The story the cards bring forward this morning is one where we are in charge of how we approach our financial situation and the security that comes from it. It is about taming that side of us (we all have it - some are just better at controlling it) the side that lets fear dictate our moves around money - that is when we find harmony. It is from this place that we are able to focus less on what we want in regards to material possession and more on what we want our lives to feel like. We work hard not to so that we buy a fancy car - but rather to feel the freedom a nice car that doesn't break down every mile brings. The Eight of Pentacles is a message that you are on the right path - but there is still work to be done. Stay focused on the end goal because it will lead to someone who will be a great help and yes the hard work will be worth the effort.
