Good morning -
Endings bring change - there is no escaping it and although at the moment it may be hard to imagine feeling whole again or the benefits as a result of this change. The message I get with this reading is that the feelings of heartache today will give way when you begin to ask the right questions.
The crows work together flapping their wings to create the energy needed to move the wheel. Always in constant motion, the wheel moves the crows through life bringing with it sorrow and joy, feelings of abundance and scarcity - how quickly or slowly the crows move in and out of situations or emotions is dependent on their actions as they have the power to linger or move quickly out of something negative and into something positive - as well as the other way around.
The foundation of today's reading is the Wheel of Fortune marking the passing of time and the end to a situation. This may be the end of a marriage that lost its passion or a job that you dreaded going to every day. Although it is my understanding that the Wheel of Fortune denotes a positive time or event has come into place as a result of an ending with the Three of Swords sitting there looming over the spread - it may be that this ending is bittersweet.
The crow feels the pain of three swords pierce through its heart as its partner flies away.
There is no way to sugar coat the Three of Swords - the energy that is dominating right now is that of pain and suffering. The ending created from the Wheel of Fortune is one that came as a surprise and although at the moment - while living through it - the pain is very real despite any benefit that may result.
Anyone who had a horrible relationship end knows that although deep down you know it is for the best - it doesn't take the sting away or that feeling of uncertainty that comes from the loss of a regular routine. Without that other person in your life, even if they were a jerk there can still be feelings of attachment.
The same can be said about a job that you dreamed of quitting one day because the conditions are less than empowering - if fired or laid off from this job - the feelings although slightly tempered are nonetheless that of being out of control of your life and a need for consistency can lead to experiencing discomfort and fear.
Because the Wheel of Fortune traditionally represents a positive shift - I can't help but believe that although at this moment the sadness and grief are all very real - there will be something positive that comes out of it - even if it takes time to fully realize.
The young and eager crow rushes into the air where it is swept up in the wind - although slightly thrown off course the bird welcomes the rush of energy as it moves it along quicker than it had expected. This bird is a curious fellow and with its sharp intellect, it thrives on learning as much as it can. At times the older birds are annoyed by the fervent energy of the inquisitive crow - but it is because of his drive and intensity that the young crow achieves whatever it sets its mind on.
The Page of Swords can be like that kid who is always asking "why?" and will keep pressing until it is completely satisfied that it understands. For anyone who has experienced a child - you know that the Why's can be like a rabbit hole!
When you apply the energy of the Page of Swords to your current situation you will find a path to creating something positive as a result of the loss you endured. Find your passion and use it as a means to heal. Allow yourself to be swept up in something that challenges your mind and energizes your soul. Get curious about your life, how did you get to this point and where do you want to go? What's stopping you and most importantly - why?
"Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them - that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like." ~ Lao Tzu
