Good morning!
There is a restless energy in the air building as you find yourself coasting through your days with little interference and that is causing that part of you the expects trouble to feel queasy. Things are going well - too well - something must be wrong. The message I am getting from the cards today it's time to let go of the wild thoughts by finding a steady emotional balance.
The crow sits on its throne where the water meets the sand. Here it is lulled into a place of tranquility as the waves gently roll in and out. This regal bird is quiet and intuitive - a peacemaker amongst the group and often sought out for his balanced approach to resolving conflict. He is a zen-master and has learned to identify and calm his emotions when needed in order to make decisions that are thoughtful and without bias.
With the King of Cups setting up the foundation for today's reading this indicates that by finding balance in how you manage your emotions you will create a place of harmony within your life. You will be able to approach any obstacles or difficult situations from a place of understanding - a place where you are able to refrain from reacting immediately out of fear or anger and move into a place where you meet any opposition in the middle.
The crow stands on the workhorse ready to get busy - however, this sturdy slow paced creature has other ideas and although the job will get done it will not be a quick as the crow would like - causing it to feel frustrated and out of control of the situation.
At the heart of today's reading is the Knight of Pentacles and with him, he brings a steady but slow progress to your situation. Things are moving along as they should and there are little to no hurdles in the way but much like watching a slug make its way across a paver - it's slow moving from one side of the garden to the other - and no amount of freaking out is going to get that slug to sprout legs to move quicker.
I personally struggle with this - as I am impatient and want things to happen on my schedule - of course, the Universe and I have different ideas on how quickly things should progress. (and the Universe will always be the winner...)
The crow's body has become weighted down by organs and bones that no longer work and because of this - the crow must release itself from it so that it can fly once again.
With Death looming - the advice that is coming through this morning is to let go of the things that are no longer serving you, whether it be a misguided belief about yourself, fear of the unknown, a need to control the situation - whatever it is - it is weighing you down and preventing you from flying.
With the King of Cups starting us off - the message is to get into a place of balance a place where you are able to control your emotions and see your situation from a level-headed and reasonable place - this is not a time to jump to conclusions or be reactionary. Sure you want things to happen more quickly and maybe the fact that things are moving slow and steady is causing your fear trigger to sound off because all you have ever experienced is either a rush of good events or a rush of setbacks and obstacles - having too many consistently mellow days feels uncomfortable.
Release any fears that may be stifling your creativity or preventing you from leaning into the positive energy around you - let go of your need to control every little thing because in doing so you will find peace and with peace, you will find your forward momentum is strong. You will also not care so much about how fast it moves - only that you are maintaining a strong forward motion - you will find harmony here.
"Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word happy would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness. It is far better to take things as they come along with patience and equanimity." ~ Carl Jung
Peace!
