Well - we start off today with some disruptive energy lurking about and even though we know what we need to do and the area of life that needs attention - when dwelling replaces action - that is when trouble enters.
The quiet crow sits on her moon, side-eyeing those who get into her view. She reads their energy and knows without a single word uttered what they are feeling. This creature is deeply in tune with the world and its occupants allowing her the gift of being able to see more than what is on the surface.
Although The High Priestess is coming through this morning in the past position because it is sitting there next to the Tower the way I am picking up the energy is that there was a vibe about something or your intuition came on strong - but it was dismissed or put off and because of this denial that "feeling" never went away - in the back of your mind you know that something needs to be addressed.
This may be a health issue that you have been putting off because of time, inconvenience, cost - or if you are like me...unless I believe I am literally dying - I avoid the doctor out of fear of pain. This is ironic because the pain that is suffered by putting it off and not going, in the beginning, is sometimes worse than if the problem was nipped in the bud!
The High Priestess is coming forward today because you know what needs to be addressed and the sooner it is managed the better.
The Crows enjoyed their peaceful roost in the old out of commission clock tower - for years it served as a safe comfortable place - until a storm came and tore apart the building sending crows and bricks into the air. Those who took quick action to find a suitable replacement faired better than those who could not let go of the tower. The crows that feared change and were attached to the tower stayed despite the lack of protection and discomfort.
At the heart of today's reading is the Tower and the energy that this card brings to the surface plays with that of your intuition coming from the High Priestess. When you know that something needs to be done and you have that inner nag bugging you to take care of the problem - take notice so that you have the ability to prepare or minimize the effect.
In regards to career - perhaps you have been catching a feeling at your work that things aren't going so great with the company if you honor that vibe and start putting your feelers out for a new job - if or when the time comes for layoffs - you will be prepared with some jobs (better ones) lined up.
If you get the feeling that your partner is cheating on you and instead of dismissing it you start to take note of things or pay attention more closely - if your hunches turn out to be correct and the relationship ends - although still heartbreaking mentally you prepared for the break.
What nagging sensations have you been feeling? If ignored could they cause more trouble than if addressed right away?
The crow stands on the river bank where three of its five cups spilled. Despite there being plenty of water around - the bird focuses its attention on what it has lost and pays no mind to the fact that there are still two perfectly good cups behind it, a river with plenty of water to pull from - or a clear break in the trees that lead to new opportunities.
With the Five of Cups sitting next to the Tower the warning here is to not fall into the trap of despair as there is still much to be grateful for - not all is lost. By focusing on your assets any upheaval will be resolved and you will move past the situation towards something better. What asset do you have in your arsenal that you not focusing and how can you use this skill or resource to help you recover?
The message I get from today's reading is along with your intuition, take stock in all that you have available to you - your strengths, those who are there to help you, your unique skills - they will be what will transform any devastation caused by the Tower into a meaningful experience where you learn something valuable about yourself that will not only help you overcome or avoid future challenges it will reveal another level of uniqueness that you bring to the world.
"There are uses to adversity, and they don't reveal themselves until tested. Whether it's serious illness, financial hardship, or the simple constraint of parents who speak limited English, difficulty can tap unexpected strengths." ~ Sonia Sotomayor
